Dr Kanwaljit Kaur-Singh
Dr Kanwaljit Kaur-Singh is a leading figure within the UK Sikh Community, in high demand as a consultant to the UK government and to industry.
A former head teacher, she has many responsibilities within the education system. As Chair of the British Sikh Education Council she oversees Religious Education in the UK’s two Sikh schools. She is also an executive member of the Religious Education Council for England and Wales and has worked as a schools’ inspector for sixteen years with Ofsted and a local education authority. She has written 12 educational books on Sikhism, ranging from Primary to ‘A’ level.
Kanwaljit is passionate about the importance of inter-faith work, sitting as an executive member on the board of the Women’s Inter-Faith Network. She is also Head of the Sikh Women’s Support Group, Head of Projects for the Network of Sikh Organisations and advertising manager of the Sikh Messenger.
