JustShare is a coalition of churches and development agencies which seeks to address the widening gap between rich and poor in the global economy.
Drawing its vision and values from the Christian faith, JustShare believes inequality in today's global economy is contrary to God's will. Originally, JustShare provided a distinctive Christian presence in the City of London during May Day demonstrations. Today, the organisation seeks to:
- understand how the financial sector impacts global poverty
- dialogue with key City of London institutions
- encourage policy changes to establish a more just world
- arrange events to mobilise Christians to promote these changes
Based at the church of St Mary le Bow in the City of London, JustShare hosts annual public debates, dialogues with banks and financial institutions, an annual May Day event in the heart of the City and a regular programme of talks and other events featuring key figures from financial and Christian institutions.
Recently, JustShare has been instrumental in challenging the City of London to become a Fairtrade zone. The City of London Corporation has joined JustShare in taking a lead in this commitment and is hoping committing to become a Fairtrade organisation before the end of 2007.
Aquarius PR does not charge fees for its work with JustShare.
