Culture Clash –
Noble Khan Challenges the Multicultural Divide
As society and government continues to debate the issues surrounding immigration and integration, Muslim businesswoman Sadi Mehmood founded Noble Khan,
a cultural awareness training company, to provide solutions to the dilemmas facing multicultural Britain today.
Noble Khan delivers cultural awareness training to businesses, religious organisations and individuals, while British cultural awareness training targets those new to the UK. In this way, Noble Khan helps develop mutually beneficial cultural and religious relationships within workplaces and communities. The business also helps stem the growing tide of anti-Islamic feeling with a unique ‘Islamophobia’ programme to teach the truth about Islam.
Sadi Mehmood called in Aquarius PR to assist in creating the marketing materials she needed to launch Noble Khan in 2005.
Objectives
To provide Noble Khan with content for marketing materials reflecting the unique nature of the consultancy, its use to businesses within the public and private sector and to individuals new to the UK.
Strategy
First and foremost, Noble Khan needed to update its website. Aquarius PR advised on the creation of a new structure and provided considerable content for a new website for the company to ensure a more corporate look and feel; one more appealing to the business market Noble Khan was targeting. The current Noble Khan website can be found at www.noblekhan.co.uk
Aquarius PR also provided the copy for marketing leaflets focussing on the company’s three main offerings: the Asian Cultural Training Programme, the British Culture Course and the Islamophobia Course. These were produced quickly and designed in cooperation with Noble Khan's own graphic designers.
Aquarius PR also provided limited set-up PR support to Noble Khan for a period of one month, alerting the HR and training press to the existence of the company and responding to stories in the national media concerning immigration and integration.
Results
Noble Khan is beginning to make its mark. The company has gained ASET accredication and worked with organisations such as Derbyshire County Council, Derby University, Age Concern and Kent Police.
